US Chromecast Owner? How to Get 3 Months of Play Music All Access for Free

allaccessThe Chromecast turned one year old this week, and to mark the occasion Google is offering US owners an extended three-month trial of Play Music All Access.

The service gives you access to millions of tracks and albums, including many of the latest releases, created ad-hoc radio stations, and skip as many songs as you like.

It can already be taken for a free 30 day spin in the US and other countries, but in honour of the widely successful media streaming dongle turning one year old, Google has increased the trial period to 90 days for US Chromecast owners.

Three months of unlimited music streaming to any device sounds good to me! Sadly, I’m in the UK, but if you’re not, here’s how to get it.

Redeem 90 Day All Access Trial

To take advantage of the promotion you first need to meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Live in the United States
  • Have not previously subscribed to All Access or used 30 day trial
  • Have purchased and set up a Chromecast prior to September 30, 2014
  • Must redeem their promo code before September 30, 2014

All fine? Ace. Now, make sure your Chromecast is plugged in and active then visit the following page in Google Chrome. Click on/follow the on-screen prompts.

Google Chromecast Goodies

The page will check your eligibility for offers by scanning your device’s serial number. Upon verifying you’ll see the All Access promotion listed. Click through to grab your redemption code and apply it to your account.

That’s it! Don’t forget that your trial only lasts for 90 days. To avoid being billed at $9.99/month you will need to cancel before your 90 days ends.

    Hi!
Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask. I’m going to buy my first chromebook. There’s very limited types of chromebook on my country. Is Acer C720-2802’s memory upgradeable? It’s only 2GB and some people says Ram on the C720 is soldered. They said that there is huge difference between 2GB and 4GB performance in chromebook. Is that true?

    • David Li

Most people will not see a difference between 2 GB and 4 GB, which is why Acer downgraded it to 2 GB. I don’t feel any lag with my C720p which comes with 2 GB ram. Heavy users with 20+ tabs open may see a difference. The C720’s ram is soldered to keep costs down so you will not be able to upgrade it.

Sadly, I’m in the UK, but if you’re not, here’s how to get it.

Not showing for me. Did you import you Chromecast?

      • mattj78

Any thanks for the millions of Chromecast owners / supporters outside of the US? I presume it is US only due to licensing restrictions, however a alternative small token for international customers would be a nice gesture.

I am not a US owner of a Chromecast, but I am the owner of a US Chromecast… Any chance I could get this deal as I missed out on the UK one due to my importedness?

    • Boothy

Mine was imported and shows as eligible.

Interesting – this page lists the offer as for the UK and Ireland instead of US… https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/6008760

Doesn’t work if you previously used the 30 day trial offered awhile ago.
