Some 6,600 brick and mortar stores around the world – including at US retail giant Walmart – are now selling the low-cost, web-centric devices.
From this week on some 2,880 Walmart stores will be stocking the SSD-toting Acer C7 Chromebook in the US.
Staples will be offering a selection of Chromebooks – including the Samsung Chromebook – in more than 1,500 of their stores, as well as online.
Other select US stores set to sell Chromebooks in the coming months include:
- Office Depot
But it’s not just the US that is seeing Chromebook availability expanded through retail.
In the UK Tesco are selling Chromebooks in 116 of their stores, joining Dixons, Argos and PC World.
In the Netherlands both Media Markt and Saturn stores are taking part; as are FNAC in France and Elgiganten in Sweden.
Over in Australia, where Chromebooks first went on sale in March of this year, both Harvey Norman and JB Hi Fi are carrying stock.
