Several readers have asked where they can download the wallpaper used in the promotional shots of the Acer C720 Chromebook.
The background is the default OEM design for the C720 line, so if you buy a device you will boot up to find the calming beach-side background enabled by default.
Acer is not the first to use a custom wallpaper on their Chromebooks. The HP Chromebook 11 released last year comes preloaded with a gorgeous geometric background.
But what if you’re on a different Chromebook, or an entirely different OS, and want to use it? Acer don’t currently make the design available to download, so you’ll have to find it. This has proved to be a bit of a challenge.
Fellow OMG! Chrome! writer Craig Tumblison has managed to pull the source image off of the device. To help others he’s popped the full-sized wallpaper on imgur in all its 2560 x 1700 resolution glory — it’s so hi-res you can almost feel the crisp, cool water lapping at your toes!
