If you’ve been holding out for HP’s new Tegra-based 14-inch Chromebook there’s good news for you: the device is now available to buy from a number of retailers in the US and the UK, including Argos.
Earlier this month HP added the device to its online storefront, touting an anticipated delivery date of ‘2-3 weeks’. Fast forward a week and the smoke silver edition is now listed as in stock and ready for next day delivery.
Sadly its colourful kin sport a lengthier estimated shipping date of 3-4 weeks.
Argos, whose range of Chromebooks is fast expanding, is also home to a new online listing. They’re offering the Aqua-coloured HP Chromebook 14 (x000na) model at £229, though stock seems scarce at present.
The other K1 Chromebook, the 13.3-inch Acer Chromebook with 1080p display, is currently on offer at Argos at £199.
In the US the HP Chromebook 14 in turquoise/aqua is now available to buy for $299 from Walmart.
HP surprised many by unveiling its 14-incher last month. The decision to switch to an Nvidia Tegra K1 system-on-a-chip (SoC) won’t please the raw performance enthusiasts, nor will the same middling display at the same middling resolution win any praise.
