Acer to to expand their range of Chromebook and Android devices whilst scaling back on Windows laptops, a report out today says.
Analysts are predicting that sales of Chromebooks, powered by Google's Chrome OS, will rise by as much as 200% in the latter half of this year.
In a report by NPD Group Inc, Chromebooks have in the past eight months gained 20 to 25% of the U.S. market for laptops that cost less than $300, making Google's laptops the fastest-growing part of the PC industry based on price.
Acer released its second Chromebook, the C7, back in November 2012. Acer's President Jim Wong reports that the Acer C7 has sold 50,000 units to date.
