Acer’s Haswell Chromebook Available to Pre-Order for $250/£199

large-1-1In what is proving to be a great week for Chromebook enthusiasts, Acer has today revealed the full skinny on their latest Chromebook – the C720.

Boasting an Intel Haswell Celeron Processor clocked at 1.4Ghz and 4GB of RAM, the company say the device is good for 8.5 hours on a single charge.

As noted during its reveal last month, the C720 is 30% thinner than Acer’s current crop of Chromebooks, and uses an improved anti-glare screen to avoid unwanted reflections.

The Acer C720 Chromebook is available to pre-order in the US from and for a cent shy of $250, while those in the UK will be able to nab it at the end of October from Currys and PC World for £199.

    why not the UK.

    • UK Users hate Google, and Google is sad and doesn’t want to be bullied.

I’m curious. Do people in the UK say that they will ‘Google’ something? Does a considerable amount of your population even use Yahoo or Bing? I ask because in the US, almost everyone uses Google except for the occasional grandmother who doesn’t know anything about their computer who just use Bing because its one of the fifty or so toolbars on their IE.

The UK, love google and everything google related. The chromebooks are really sort after and at peak times have had waiting lists for new stock to arrive. We do you the phrase “to google it” alot and apart from the old and the non educated, google search is the first and only choice.
