New 15-second adverts for Google Chrome, one featuring Family Guy’s Stewie, have made their way online.

The spots are the work of agency 72andSunny, whose roster includes celebrated work for Samsung’s line of Android devices,

The new ads follow in the vein of some of Google’s earlier Chrome ads by focusing on the humorous, light-hearted benefits of Chrome rather than bombarding users with reasons why they should use it (something Microsoft’s Internet Explorer ads tend to do).

Are they better than previous adverts we’ve seen? I guess it depends on your humour. The current crop of TV ads airing here in the UK are the so-called “sentimental” ones – they focus on a story, and how Google Chrome has helped.

These 15-second shorts are less structured than those, instead focusing on the irreverence of the web and the irreverence of life whilst trying to use the web.
