The second generation HP Chromebook 14 is now available for pre-order in the UK and the US.
In the UK, the company’s online store lists three colour options, all with the same specifications and expected delivery date of ‘2-3 weeks’.
As announced last month, the revised model features a smaller, thinner, lighter body than that it replaces. It trades the more powerful Intel Haswell processor for a power efficient ARM-based Nvidia Tegra K1 chip clocked at 2.1GHz. This is paired with a 192-core Nvidia Keplar GPU for handling multimedia and gaming content.
All non-touch models use the same 14.1-inch HD LED display running at a resolution of 1366×768.
HP Chromebook 14 G3 Specs:
- Tegra K1 CPU (Quad-core)
- 16GB eMMC Storage
- 2 GB DDR3L RAM
- Wi-Fi ac & Bluetooth 4.0
- Full-sized HDMI out
- 3x USB Ports
- MicroSD media card reader
You can head over to the HP UK Store to pre-order the device, with pricing set at £229 inc. VAT.
US Release Also Nears

Over in the States the new 14-inch models are available to pre-order from HP’s business arm priced from $299.99. These models aren’t available with the colourful flourishes of their consumer kin, but are available in a wider choice of configurations.
Pricing and specifications are as follows:
- 2GB RAM + 16GB SSD — $299
- 4GB RAM + 16GB SSD — $329
- 4GB RAM + 32GB SSD — $350
A full-HD (1920×1080) version with a touchscreen is also listed:
- 4GB RAM + 16GB SSD + FHD Touch — $429
The consumer models are likely to retain the pricing structure where applicable models are offered. In addition, a 4G variant offering ‘lifetime broadband’ (for the life of the product and capped at 250MB/m) will also be available in the US priced at $350.
Battery life on the 2GB models is estimated at ‘up to’ 9 hours, and ‘up to’ 8 hours on those shipping with 4GB.
