Chrome developers have given the first glimpse of the 'Metro' interface that the browser will use in Windows 8.

Google have hinted a possible 'convergence' between their web-based ChromeOS and mobile operating system Android. The suggestion of combining the two systems to work as one unified OS comes from the mouth of Sundar Pichai, the Senior Vice President of Chrome and Apps at Google.
ChromeOS's Aura window manager - which is present in the Beta and Dev channels of the OS - uses sleek see-through borders around the edges of app windows. As great as this looks out of the box the developers at Chrome are wise enough to know that what suits one user might now suit another. To this end the Dev channel provides built in options to adjust the transparency of window borders for solo, active and inactive windows.

Google Chrome has overtaken Internet Explorer as the worlds most used web browser. Whilst the browser has only just edged passed the dominant blue 'e' last week based on stats from web firm StatCounter, it is the first time that Chrome has achieved the feat.
